They are caused by the contraction of a muscle known as frontalis. At first these lines only appear during eyebrow raising and disappear at rest but eventually will be noticeable all the time. Some people tend to habitually raise their eyebrows when talking and often these people will notice permanent lines appearing at a young age.
Some people will have two or three dominant lines across the forehead where as other individuals may have more of a corrugation of the forehead when they raise their eyebrows and may have multiple finer lines. An experienced practitioner will recognise the difference between these two types of forehead lines and tailor treatment to the individual.
Forehead line treatment is very popular and is generally highly successful. However, care must be taken to find an experienced practitioner that is available for follow up as sometimes further treatment may be required to give the optimum results. It is always better to under treat rather than risk over treatment and a poor aesthetic result.
