Skin Cancer Clinic
Dr Wassall Offers the Following Advantages:
Specialist in Skin Cancer Medicine
- Dr Stephen Wassall was one of the first cohort in Australia to complete a Master's Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine at the University of Queensland. This is a rigorous two year degree and is an officially recognised Post Graduate Qualification. This is very different from a Certificate which can sometimes be completed by attending a weekend workshop. Always check the qualifications of your Skin Cancer Doctor - many have no post graduate training in this area.
- Experience
- Dr Wassall has been practising Skin Cancer Medicine on the Central Coast since 1998. He has diagnosed and managed hundreds of melanomas and thousands of other skin cancers.
- Integrity
- Dr Wassall will always act in the best interests of the patient. He will discuss treatment options with you and tailor a treatment plan which takes into consideration your individual circumstances and needs.
- Surgical Skill
- Dr Wassall has performed thousands of surgical procedures to treat skin cancer and melanoma. He prides himself on excellent cosmetic outcomes and performs simple elliptical excisions as well as more complicated skin cancer flaps and skin grafts. He has a close working relationship with Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists on the Central Coast and Sydney and will refer you if he believes this will offer you the best outcome.
- Expert in Dermoscopy
- Dr Wassall is an expert in dermoscopy. This technique allows visualisation of structures beneath the skin and is the best way of diagnosing melanoma early. Dr Wassall has been using this technique since 1998 and has examined thousands of patients and assessed millions of lesions.
